1. Welcome to September’s newsletter. It has been a busy month at the Shed with the complete renovation of the galley and completion of some community projects. The galley was a monumental undertaking that needed careful planning. A ruthless cull of books and publications, a complete re-paint and the installation of extra facilities was desperately required. Like our kitchens in our homes, the galley is ‘our’ Shed hub to meet and share experiences and stories, occasionally some of these can be far fetched but that’s another story! Led by Peter Sanders, John Skerratt and David Sy and ably assisted by Shed members throughout the project, work started on clearing and removing shelving and cabinets, painting and general cleaning. You only have to look at the finished work to see just how much effort has been put in to the task. A big thank you to those who were able to help out whether it was every day or just a few hours, it all helped. Peter wants to record his thanks for the ‘advice’ he received during the work.

The next major task will be preparations for the roof removal and replacement. There will be much to do on this phase and membership help will be vitally important to meet contractor’s timelines. There will be more on this important milestone in the future of WMS, in later additions of this newsletter.

Richard Veitch looks a little concerned, as it appears that he is turning in to one of the blue men!

These two photos show what can be achieved with members coming forward to give a few hours for the Shed. From the Committee a big thank you to all concerned. Let’s hope we can get the same or more member support for the next task for WMS.
