Secondly, a further 10p in every pound will go into the Havant Borough Community Fund, through which local groups can apply for small grants to support their work. The Havant Borough Community Fund is one of the good causes supported by the Havant Borough Lottery, it provides a generic option for players who do not have an allegiance to a specific good cause, to select when they buy their ticket. As a group we would need to purchase fifty tickets per year to qualify for a possible funding though it has to be made clear it wasn’t guaranteed. Each member who purchases tickets at a £1:00 has a chance of a personal win of up to £25,000 and helping WMS as their chosen charity. There is no obligation of members to purchase and it must be pointed out that WMS, as a charity, cannot purchase tickets, it must be members. So if you are interested, please go to WWW. HAVANT COMMUNITY LOTTERY to see the rules and if you are willing to have a flutter, let me know then I can officially sign us up as a good cause and try our luck. Thanks in advance and anticipation.

6. Volunteer Key holder standby list During the coming months there will be times when our regular key holders will not be able to cover their usual days due to holidays, medical or family appointments. Most of the time one of the other key holders is able to stand in and ensure that the facilities remain open for members. There may be a time however where a day cannot be covered. To ensure that the WMS is able to continue daily opening, if there are any members willing to stand in as a key holder, could they contact me and we can put their names on to the bank of people to call if needed.

7. After the last Committee meeting due to the unavailability of our own ‘hairy bikers’ chefs, the planned summer family BBQ has been put right one week to Sunday 15th September with inclement weather back up date 22nd September

8. Terry Harris has suggested a visit to the Eastney Pumping Station. They are open 10am to 4pm on the last Sunday of the month. Entry is free and there is a fairly large free car park about 1 minute walk away. Sadly nothing is going to be in steam for a while although they do slowly spin the gas engines with electric motors. If anyone is interested in paying a visit, contact Terry via me if you don’t see him or have his contact details. Not much to organise just potential car sharing on the day.
